We build writing teachers. They create a culture of writing.
YAWP! is a professional development program that gives teachers the curriculum, training, and a dedicated mentor to teach writing brilliantly — while an AI tutor guides students through the process and never writes for them. The result: expert writing teachers, and the best essays your students have ever written.
Three parts working together — with a real person in every teacher's corner.
We develop master writing teachers
Every teacher is paired with a dedicated mentor who walks them through our proven curriculum, coaches them through their first essay cycle, and supports them until they're confident and independent. Not a login and a help center — real PD with a real person beside you.
A process that works
Students learn a critical-thinking and writing process they can use across every subject — to write original, thesis-driven essays that stand up in any high school or college classroom.
Guides, never writes
The YAWP! Tutor is trained in our curriculum and gives students immediate, personal feedback without doing the work for them. It reinforces the teacher's lesson, protects integrity, and saves everyone time.
Together, they build a culture of writing — where students and teachers minimize the grind and rediscover the joy of writing.
What students actually do in YAWP!
Students write in the YAWP! platform, working on assignments their teacher creates — everything from a five-minute bell ringer to a three-week critical essay.
Students see what their teacher has set — a prompt, a rubric, and a place to write. No feed, no points, no streaks. A quiet place to think.
Whether it's a ten-minute journal entry or the first day of a long essay, students start by working out what they actually have to say. The Tutor asks questions — What do you mean by this? What in the text made you think so? — and never supplies the answer.
On a critical essay, students build a thesis and then the introduction, body, and conclusion, with the Tutor beside them at each step, reinforcing what their teacher taught in class. Ask it to write your thesis and it declines, then asks you a question instead. That refusal is the program.
Feedback arrives fast enough to use. Students see their graded draft beside their original, make changes, and keep writing. Every draft is saved, so students and teachers can watch the work develop.
The strongest student writing goes into digital showcases, and into print anthologies on request.
Students gets feedback at each step — not just when they hand in their finished work.
"I've never felt more proud of an essay in my life."
"It was nice to get feedback right away. I felt like I was learning to be a better writer as I was writing."
Four AI assistants, each trained in our curriculum.
YAWP! Tutor
Works alongside students as they write. Guides, never writes.
Grading Assistant
Reads a submitted essay against your rubric and returns specific, teacher-voiced feedback in about thirty seconds. You edit, you approve, you decide the grade.
Class Summary
After grading, see how the class performed by rubric category, with real student examples and suggested next steps.
YAWP! Reporter
Ask anything about your class's writing. Growth reports for a single student, who needs attention this week, printable summaries for conferences and handoffs.
Most schools have no data on student writing at all. This is the first record of how your writers actually grow.
Build lasting capacity — not a subscription that ends.
Certified YAWP! Teacher
After completing their first semester with full mentoring, teachers earn Certified status — running the program independently and unlocking expanded platform features.
Lead YAWP! Teacher
Certified teachers train to mentor new YAWP! teachers in their building, co-lead PD, and become the writing point person for their department.
Champion YAWP! Teacher
Leads become Champions — presenting at conferences, leading district trainings, and contributing to curriculum. Champions receive branded materials, coaching, and a stipend.
In three years, you'll have writing-instruction leaders in your building who can sustain and scale strong writing instruction independently.

Built to fit your curriculum, your scale, and your budget.
Coherence, not another add-on
YAWP! maps onto the curriculum and units you already teach — strengthening writing across the disciplines instead of competing for space.
Built to scale
Start with a grade, a department, or one teacher in every building, with a clear runway to expand. Designed for real implementation, not a pilot that stalls.
Built around your curriculum
We build assignments around what you already teach, rather than asking you to teach around a product.
Funded through budgets you have
Teacher licensing maps to Title II (PD); student licensing maps to Title I and Title IV (instructional tools/technology).
Students receive direct writing instruction in the platform on teacher-assigned work during the instructional day.
The writing problem every school is facing.
Students can generate an essay in seconds — and skip the thinking that essay was supposed to build. Teachers want to guide real writing, but between class sizes and workloads, there's no time to give every student meaningful feedback. YAWP! solves both: students do the thinking, teachers get their time back, and writing becomes something everyone actually wants to do.
Turn your students into published writers.
We elevate student voices through online publishing — digital showcases of the real work happening in your school. (Print anthologies available on request.)
